Professor Martín Carbajo Núñez, OFM, will participate as a speaker in the fourth edition of the International EoF Conference (4th European EoF Summer School, EoFEUSS), to be held at the University of Split (Croatia) from 16 to 23 July 2026. Professor Carbajo will deliver two lectures and will also serve as a member of the Program Committee and the Organizing Committee, together with Roland F. Szilas, Kristijan Sedak, Davor Trbušić, Matea Vidulić, Bruno Petrušić, Antonia Čobanov and Marijana Kompes.
This edition of the Conference will also include an online program, scheduled for 8 to 10 July 2026.
The central theme of this year’s Conference will be: “Fostering Solidarity in the Economy and Communication: In the Spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi.” The choice of this theme is inspired by the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, the figure after whom the Economy of Francesco is named.
The Conference will adopt an interdisciplinary approach, both theoretical and practical, bringing into dialogue economics, communication sciences, theology, and Catholic social teaching, with particular attention to the Economy of Francesco movement. This edition will also examine concrete experiences, such as cooperatives, social enterprises, worker-ownership models, and ethical finance, among others.
The
first edition of this event took place in 2023 at the same venue, while
the second was held in 2004, with Professor Carbajo participating by giving four lectures. During the third edition, held in 2025, Professor Carbajo addressed the topic “
Artificial Intelligence and Leadership: An Ethical Perspective.”
