From polarization to evangelical fraternity and culture of encounter

Prof. Martín Carbajo-Núñez, OFM, has been invited to participate as a speaker in the course “Polarization in Consecrated Life,” organized by the Vicariate for Consecrated Life of the Primate Archdiocese of Mexico. His presentation will take place on October 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (Mexico City time) and will address the topic:
The presentation will reflect on one of the significant challenges of our time: the growing polarization that affects not only society and the Church but also communities of consecrated life. In the face of dynamics of confrontation, fragmentation, and self-referentiality, Gospel fraternity is called to foster listening, dialogue, communal discernment, and an authentic culture of encounter.

This invitation continues Prof. Carbajo-Núñez’s collaboration with the same Vicariate. In 2025, he also participated as a speaker in an event organized by the Vicariate for Consecrated Life of the Primate Archdiocese of Mexico, addressing challenges related to contemporary culture and consecrated life.

The new presentation will provide an opportunity to explore another closely related contemporary challenge: how differences and tensions can be transformed into opportunities for dialogue, and how to strengthen a form of fraternity capable of embracing diversity without falling into polarizing dynamics.
