This is an initiative led by the FOESSA Foundation, with significant participation from the Europe Foundation for Ethical Study and Reflection (Funderética) and the Catholic Association of Propagandists. The project aims to be as pluralistic as possible; therefore, participants will include individuals affiliated with the Jesuits, Franciscans, base communities, and other movements or religious institutes.
OBJECTIVE
The FCPEE is conceived as a space for ethical and Christian reflection, bringing together national experts in ethics and economics to analyze, deepen, and discuss the ethical and economic challenges posed by contemporary reality, both nationally and internationally. This forum aims to have public impact through the preparation of conclusions that can be shared in the media (print, radio, television) and through the publication of reflections and proposals in various formats (videos, books, pamphlets, articles, etc.). Additionally, it seeks to promote practical initiatives, as well as educational and research activities.
FORMAT
The forum will hold one or two annual meetings, limited to a small group of participants (around ten people). The meetings will take place on weekdays, spanning a morning and an afternoon or vice versa. A convenient location will be chosen for all attendees, ideally accommodating the meeting, meals, and lodging in the same place.
Each participant will present a ten-to-fifteen-minute talk on a specific topic, followed by a discussion of approximately forty minutes. The coordinator will be responsible for organizing and scheduling the topics and for drafting the minutes of the meeting. From these debates and conversations, a joint action plan will be developed to ensure the continuity and public relevance of the FCPEE.
COMMUNICATION PLAN
The forum’s conclusions will be disseminated through Christian media, as well as through mainstream channels. There is also potential for producing academic articles for specialized journals, initiating joint research projects eligible for national and international funding, or publishing collective works that synthesize the knowledge discussed in the forum. Finally, courses and seminars may be organized to further disseminate the ideas and reflections of the FCPEE.
The first meeting will be held in Madrid between January and February 2016.
