Next Tuesday, April 7, at 8:30 p.m., in Camino de Ronda, 65, Granada, Prof. Martín Carbajo-Núñez, OFM, will give a lecture entitled: "Passion and Easter in the life of San Francisco: today 800 years later." The event has been organized by the Franciscans of the city on the occasion of the Easter celebrations.
This conference is part of the commemorative cycle that the Franciscan family has been developing in recent years on the occasion of the centenaries linked to St. Francis: in 2023, the Rule and Greccio; in 2024, the stigmata; in 2025, the Canticle of the Creatures; and in 2026, Easter.
The special intensity with which Andalusian Christians live Holy Week offers a particularly propitious context for reflecting on how St. Francis experienced and embodied in his life the mysteries of redemption.
Before giving the lecture in Granada, prof. Carbajo had given another lecture
in Carballino (Galicia) on "
La pasión en el corazón de San Francisco". Already traveling to Granada, he stopped a few days in Seville, where
witnessed some Easter processions and actively participated in one of them.
